The 2010 NFL season came and went. In the event that we actually get a 2011 season, here is a WAAAAAY to early look at five breakout players for next year.
Matt Stafford QB Detroit: The Lions could use help on the OL, but if Stafford can stay upright, he can make all the throws. He has a stud WR in Calvin Johnson. With the Lions defense ready to force a ton of turnovers, I think Stafford could easily throw up 3800 yards and 25 TD's. It's not a matter of whether Stafford has the ability, it's can he stay healthy.
The Tampa "Triplets": Second year QB Josh Freeman quietly had a Pro Bowl caliber season throwing for 3,451 yards. 25 TD's and only 6 INT's. Freeman added 368 yards on the ground. Rookie RB LaGarrette Blount rushed for 1,000 yards and averaged 5 yards a carry. Rookie WR Mike Williams caught 65 balls for 964 yards and 11 TD's. Throw in Kellen Winslow Jr. and Aurelius Benn and the Bucs' 2011 offense could be lethal.
Joe Haden CB Cleveland Browns: Haden did not begin the year as the starter in Cleveland, but quickly became one of the Browns best defenders. Some scouts questioned his top end speed, but he clearly plays much faster than he runs in workouts. Starting only 7 games, Haden intercepted 6 passes. He has future superstar written all over him.
I like old people. I really do. They say the craziest things, even when they are true. Check out the comments Reds' HOF radio man Marty Brenneman made as the keynote speaker for Marshall University's Baseball Banquet.
" Marshall’s president must be “queer” for softball since the university managed to open a $2.5 million softball facility in March 2008, but baseball is still traveling for home games."
On the Reds' NL Central competition:
"[The Pirates] probably improved themselves, which means they’ll probably lose 97 games … There’s no light at the end of the tunnel for that franchise. There really isn’t … I’m not a big St. Louis fan, because I’m not a big Tony LaRussa fan. I refer to him as ‘Mr. Baseball’ on the radio, because he acts like he invented the game … The Chicago Cubs won’t be a factor because, no matter how much they add to their club, at the end of the day, they’ve got ‘Cubs’ across the front of their jerseys. That’s the reason why they won’t win.”
Rolling Stone magazine recently did a photo shot with musical hottie Katy Perry. http://www.rollingstone.com/
They also took liberties ie phot shopped her body from the actual photos taken as you can see in this GIF. http://www.theatlanticwire.com/features/view/feature/Rolling-Stone-Photoshops-Katy-Perry-3141

Media Day Recap
Super Bowl Media Day came and went. Here are some of the sights and sounds of Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
With sleet, snow, and treachorous roads, we needed a 5 police car escort to the stadium.
Inez Sainz, the reporter who stirred a bit of controversy at Jets camp earlier this year was at media day. Believe me when I say, I captured the best side of her.
Daryl Johnston, current Fox analyst, gave his thoughts on Wade Phillips and the Texans among other subjects.
Chad Ochocinco had the OCCN in full form all day long. Bucs rookie DT Gerald McCoy was employed by Chad as a reporter today.

Tramon Williams as I'm sure you know by now, was originally an undrafted free agent of the Texans. Williams still can't believe the team cut him, but it seems like he's adjusting pretty well. Williams complimented his former DB coach John Hoke and realizes Texans GM Rick Smith didn't think he was good enough.

Steelers OLB Lamar Woodly was a very impressive individual to meet. He had alot to say about the game and other topics. I get about 2.5 minutes with him around the 7 minute mark.
Steelers no-nonsense head coach Mike Tomlin looked very much ready for the session to end and to play some ball.
Houston native Casey Hampton is looking for his 3rd championship ring. He recognizes that he and many of his teammates have a chance to go down in history.
