Nobody gets me more interested/excited about baseball than ESPN's Tim Kurkjian. He wrote a column with the biggest burning issues for each Major League club entering Spring Training. Here's what he had to say about your Houston Astros.
"The Astros weren't going anywhere anyway with Lance Berkman, Roy Oswalt and the rest of the veteran players; moving some guys along to let the young guys play was the thing to do. Now we'll see if Chris Johnson takes another step forward at third base, Jason Castro does the same behind the plate and first baseman Brett Wallace becomes the hitter so many think he will be. Now, if the Astros can trade left fielder Carlos Lee, that would be a bonus, but it's highly unlikely." Here's Tim's full column on all 30 MLB teams.

It's the 1st day of workouts for the Astros Wednesday. This is the 1st video Drayton McClane as gives his team to watch every Spring.
Hopefully Sammy Gervacio will be back in action soon following his shoulder surgery. This windup is nuts!
Bat girls need some warmup swings as well during the Spring.

The Lakers signed a new TV deal with Time Warner that will net them $3 billion over 30 years. That's more than $66 million a year to Dr. Jerry Buss. With the workout stoppage looming and lower cost certainty expected for each team, the Lakers will likely be in the black as a business before they even lift a finger to sell a ticket. It's good to be the king.

Color me unimpressed with Mike Munchak's staff hires. He recycled all of his old coaches and teammates. How about pulling a bunch of new ideas or successes? There's a reason why Chris Palmer was retired and Jerry Gray could not sniff a DC job. Mix in Marcus Robertson, Bruce Matthews, Gary Brown...he's got the whole band back together! Were Jim Eddy and the Ernest Givens unavailable?
