Punt Loses SIXTY yards!

Wagner had the ball on Cornell’s 35-yard line during its 31-7 loss on Saturday. It had a decision to make: punt or kick a long field goal.

A 52-yard boot is too much for a coach to ask Wagner’s kicker to make. So, punt it away. A good decision, right? Not exactly.

After the ball went straight through the punter’s hands, he tried to kick and got blocked. Then another Wagner player picked up the loose ball and – apparently not satisfied with the negative yardage – ran 25 yards backward.

The play resulted in a 60-yard net loss on the play. A 60-YARD NET LOSS. OK, just wanted to make sure everyone got that.

I thought the kids at these liberal arts colleges were suppose to be wicked smart?
