BCS Title Game Recap, College Football Reform, Some Memorable Videos

A season surrounded in controversy and NCAA investigation ended in a championship for the Auburn Tigers.  Wes Byrum kicked a 19 yards FG as time expired giving the Tigers a 22-19 win over the Oregon Ducks.  Auburn's defense made a huge statement Monday night holding the potent Oregon Ducks ground game to 75 yards on 32 carries.  Auburn DT Nick Fairley might have earned himself the #1 pick in the upcoming NFL draft as he was a major force up the middle despite his very dirty play.

To be honest, the title feels a bit hollow to me on two fronts.  Don't get me wrong, Auburn won the game, I'm not disputing that fact. (Though you might question where the officials' whistles were before Michael Dyer's last 50 yard run.)
#1 I can't help but think watching this game that TCU could have played with and beaten either or both of these squads.  I know the 38 day layoff didn't do Oregon or Auburn justice, but there is not that big a gap between the three teams.  College Football needs a playoff.  You know it, I know it, everyone knows it.

#2 Cam Newton is a tremedous college football player, but he did not belong on that field.  The NCAA's choices for selective enforcement is apalling.  This is not a court of law.  One does not have to be proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.  I feel pretty strongly that 1,2,5 years from now the NCAA will be breaking into that Trophy Case at Jordan Hare Stadium and ripping that crystal ball.

Seems silly to post this now, the day after the BCS title game, but I just found the article.
I challenge you to come up with major disagreement with the following well reasoned column by The Washington Posts's Sally Jenkins.

A quick recap of the article: 6 ways to reform college football.

1. Cut Scholarships from 85 to 70

2. Cap the salaries of coaches, and suspend them if they get caught cheating.

3. Make freshmen ineligible.

4. Reduce the regular season from 12 games to 10 games.

5. Abolish the Bowl Championship Series.

6. Toughen punishments on players who accept money, and agents who offer it to them.

While some people have chosen to put the Marshawn Lynch game winning 66 yard TD to Tecmo Super Bowl Video Game, here's a better version IMHO with a different game.

This will NEVER get old. Hope for some of you it's the 1st time you've seen it.

Would anyone like to stay at the Bud Light Hotel with me?
