Thank You.

I've had plenty of time to myself this weekend to get ready for an exciting week for SportsTalk 790.  Before Monday's "Big Announcement" commences, I just wanted to thank all of you listeners for giving us a shot as a station.

Seventeen months ago Wex and I decided to leave our safe, stable jobs at the (then) name brand station in our field for an operation that outside of Charlie Palillo was flat lining in every day part.  We  managed to convince our good friend Matt Thomas to turn down offers from other stations to join us.  Our new boss, Eddie Martiny, was willing to give a sports station one more try before they put a bullet in it and flipped it to something different.

The SportsTalk 790 listeners have been incredibly patient with us as we established (in my humble opinion) the best lineup of local talk from 6am-7pm.  I never have to go to work.  I get to talk and interact with thousands of my closest friends each and every day about sports, my pathetic musical knowledge, and even gingers.  This is a paying gig??

There are so many individual listeners I'd like to thank who have been with us from the beginning, but I'll just mention a few. (Ocho, Northside Mike, Desiree, Lamont, Raider Kevin, Rob in Copperfield,Casey) You all keep me both entertained and on my toes on a daily basis.  The great thing about this station and this format, is we can disagree about something, but at the end of the day, no one takes themselves too seriously.

It's humbling to see how much our audience has grown from the beginning and we look forward to sharing the airwaves with many, many, more of you as we continue to grow.  We have HUGE plans as a station for football season, and I hope to see all of you at our station events (I'll be the guy with a Bud Light).  The present at Sports Talk 790 is pretty damn bright and I'm awfully proud of what you all have helped us build. 

The future begins at 8am Monday morning.
